PARIS, 5th June, 2022 (WAM) — Rafael Nadal claimed a record-extending 14th title at the French Open as he defeated Norwegian Casper Ruud 6-3 6-3 6-0.
The Spaniard dominated today’s final after winning11 consecutive games across the second and third sets to win a 22nd grand slam title.
The victory means that the King of Clay becomes the oldest men’s singles champion at Roland Garros.
In terms of grand slams titles tally, Nadal is now two ahead of rivals Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic at the top of the men’s all-time list.
